Limerino is a Swift-native client for people who live in chat. Emotes from 7TV, BTTV, and FrankerFaceZ render inline, history backfills the moment you join, and clips and past broadcasts play inside the app — with the chat that was live at that moment replaying beside them.

Limerino reimplements the parts of Twitch chat that power users actually rely on, as a fast native app rather than a wrapped web view.
Emotes: 7TV, BTTV, and FrankerFaceZ render inline — animated, wide, and zero-width emotes included, with badges.
Backfill: Join any channel and recent history is already on screen — no staring at an empty room.
Split view: Two channels stacked on one screen, each with its own chat, emotes, and badges.
Whispers: Read and answer private messages without leaving the stream.
ModTools: Timeouts, bans, message deletion, an AutoMod queue, poll and prediction commands, and a moderation log — without leaving chat.
Pins & threads: Twitch’s pinned messages sit in a banner above chat, and following a reply thread highlights every answer.
UserCards: Tap any username for profile info, their recent messages, and moderation actions.
Widgets: A Home Screen widget keeps an eye on one channel you pick.
Accessibility: VoiceOver rotor actions, Dynamic Type, and Reduce Motion supported throughout.
New in 1.1.8
Version 1.1.8 lets you predict, vote in polls and spend Channel Points without leaving chat, keeps a live stream playing in Picture in Picture when you leave Limerino, and makes clips while a channel is live. Your own photo can sit behind chat, your settings belong to your Twitch account, and on iPhone Duo the stream and chat sit on either side of the fold.
Tap the prediction at the top of chat, pick an outcome and how many Channel Points to use, and tap Predict. Vote in a poll from the top of chat or with /poll; where a channel allows it, Add a vote spends Channel Points on an extra vote and shows the cost first. Moderators run predictions and polls, and Affiliates and Partners run predictions on their own channel.
Your balance for the open channel sits at the top of chat. Tap it for rewards to redeem and sub emote unlocks where a channel offers them. Hype Train progress shows at the top of chat once you turn it on in Settings › Banners & chat modes.
With the sound on, a live stream on the Native player, the default, moves to a floating Picture in Picture window when you leave Limerino or tap the Picture in Picture button in the player’s controls. Closing the window pauses the stream. Settings › Video › Picture in Picture turns it off.
While a channel is live, Create clip in the ⋯ menu makes a clip on Twitch under your account, and /clip takes a title. Profile › Your clips lists the clips you made in Limerino on this device, and clips play in Limerino’s own player. In Settings › Video, turning off Live video player opens every channel as a chat room, and Start with video closed opens live channels on the Watch live bar.
Every viewer sees a channel’s pinned message at the top of chat; by default it hides while the channel is offline. A card offers the chat rules before your first message, the line above the message box says what a channel needs before you can chat, and a row at the top of chat gives the reason when a moderator warns, times out or bans you; moderators see Moderation history on a chatter’s card. FrankerFaceZ effects such as ffzX and ffzRainbow flip or animate the emote before them, and a 7TV emote link shows as its emote card. Settings › Appearance › Chat background puts your own photo behind chat, and the photo stays on your device.
Match case, under Settings › Mention alerts › Your username, counts a mention only with your exact capitals; identical mentions in a row collapse into one, and reading a mention clears its notification. Badges you can earn, in Settings › Activity alerts, can alert you when a Twitch badge you don’t have becomes earnable, and Earnable now lists the ones you can still get and how. Settings, channels, whispers and drafts belong to the Twitch account that set them up. Settings › Account › Advanced › Choose permissions… picks which Twitch permissions you grant, and Settings › Badges › Twitch badge chooses the badge you wear. Whispers brings in your recent conversations from Twitch.

Emotes
7TV, BetterTTV, and FrankerFaceZ emotes render inline beside Twitch’s own, animated, wide, and zero-width included. The picker gathers your recent emotes, each channel’s set, and every provider’s globals, with a search that reaches all of 7TV. Each provider has its own switch in Settings.

Channels
Channel tabs hold your open rooms side by side, with history backfilled the moment you join. The switcher filters by Open, Favorites, and Followed — which puts live channels first — and searches any channel on Twitch.

Make it yours
Pick a palette and an accent color, then set username and message text sizes independently. Compact rows, timestamps, a line break after usernames, inline link previews, and the channel status banner are all yours to turn on or off.

Mentions
Turn on mention alerts and Limerino pushes a notification when someone @mentions you in chat — including while the app is closed. Every hit lands in one inbox that keeps thousands of past mentions, sortable, filterable by time, and searchable by sender.
You stay in control of the noise: scope alerts to the channels you follow or go as wide as Limerino’s chat-monitoring network reaches, then shape the rest with quiet hours, per-channel mutes, sender cooldowns, and a mute button on any person’s user card.
Sign in once with Twitch’s own approval page — the official login, so the app never sees your password. One sign-in covers chat and playback, and it stays signed in across launches.
Limerino is SwiftUI from top to bottom, with no wrapped web view anywhere in the chat path — which is why it starts fast and keeps up with a busy channel.
