Mention monitoring degraded
An upstream source of live chat data began refusing our connections. We failed over to a backup source, which delivered only partial coverage for about six hours. Through the three busiest of those hours most mentions went undetected, so most mention alerts in that window were never sent. Chat inside the app was unaffected — it connects to Twitch directly and does not pass through this path. Coverage returned to normal at 03:15 UTC.
Failover is now automatic. Monitoring also measures how much of the stream we are actually receiving, not only whether the connection is up.
